The executive committee of the NC Lacrosse Coaching Clinic has been in the position of making a very difficult decision over this past weekend. Our low registrations numbers to date, coupled with difficulty cultivating adequate sponsorships funds, have fueled growing concerns about the financial feasibility of the NC Lacrosse Coaching Clinic on January 6th, 2018. After carefully assessing the set costs of this event and the budget goals set by the chapter, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the clinic for 2018.
We are very sorry for this inconvenience to you personally. We are extremely appreciative of your willingness to participate in this important event. Your desire to foster the responsible growth of our sport is demonstrated by your willingness to share your time and financial resources in the support of your coaching education. Registered participants will be receiving a full refund for your registration fee from the NC Chapters of US Lacrosse. We sincerely hope you will consider joining us as a participant for the 2019 clinic with details to follow in future communications.
We have identified several areas that will be addressed differently for the 2019 event. We need to find better modalities to get the event publicized. We have had feedback that the registration process itself was cumbersome and difficult to navigate for the registrants. We need to do a better job of boosting sponsorship funds. These items coupled with any other feedback you might provide will be under the careful consideration of the NC Chapter of US Lacrosse moving forward.
Thank you for your support and understanding. We will look forward to seeing you at the 2019 clinic, in the meantime consider joining us for the US Lacrosse Coaching Development Level 2 Clinic on February 3rd in Durham, USL CDP.
